Q: How does therapy work? A: You are invited to discuss openly and honestly the things you would like help with. A number of issues can bring you to seek help, such as your relationships, your feelings, thoughts and behaviour, your childhood, past and present life events or situations you find difficult. A trusted relationship between you and your therapist is the foundation of therapy and is paramount that you feel heard and understood by the therapist you're working with. I will not offer you advice or guidance as I believe in supporting you to make your own decisions about your life.
Q: How does online therapy work? A: Therapy is provided on a planned, weekly basis on a set day and time. Each session lasts an hour and it takes place online (video call) via Zoom platform. A link to access the session will be emailed to you a few days prior to our agreed meeting.
Q: What types of issues can online therapy help with? A: Online therapy can be effective for a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief and loss, trauma, and more. As a therapist, I work with clients to develop personalised treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
Q: What type of therapy do you offer? A: I currently offer one-to-one therapy online for people over the age of 18.
Q: Is online therapy confidential? A: Yes, confidentiality is just as important in online therapy as it is in in-person therapy. I use secure video conferencing software and take steps to protect client privacy and confidentiality. However, it's important to note that there are limitations to confidentiality in online therapy, particularly when it comes to potential issues with internet security and privacy.
Q: How do I schedule an online therapy session? A: You can contact me via phone call or email to schedule an initial consultation. During this consultation, we'll discuss your concerns and determine whether online therapy is a good fit for your needs. If we decide to move forward, we'll schedule your first session and provide instructions for accessing the video conferencing software.
Q: How do I cancel a session? A: Please contact me via text or email to cancel. I currently operate a minimum 24-hour cancellation process. Cancelling less than 24-hours incurs a charge for the full session.
Q: What are the fees for online therapy? A: For our initial one hour session I charge a reduced fee of £35. If you choose to continue with therapy with me after that my current fee is £55 per sixty-minute session. This is subject to change but you will always be given adequate notice beforehand.
Q: How long until you hear back from me? A: If you have contacted me between Monday-Friday, I aim to respond within 24-hours. Please outline your preferred contact method (e.g. email, text, phone call).
Q: Do you offer online therapy to clients outside of the UK? A: As a therapist based in the UK, I'm licensed to provide therapy services to clients within the UK. However, in the future I may be able to provide services to clients outside of the UK on a case-by-case basis.
